One by one
The children, one by one
36 children live in the group we support. Here are the ones we can present individually today, with what we know about them.
We are collecting names, ages and short stories for all 36 children together with Nahwera in Kabale. Until a detail is confirmed we leave it out rather than make it up — the photos are all real pictures taken on the ground.

Katushabe
young girl
Katushabe lives with epilepsy. Her seizures used to go untreated because the family could not pay for medication. The association now covers her treatment and her follow-up at the clinic, and she goes to school like the others.

Name to be confirmed
small boy
This little boy suffers from Hirschsprung's disease and needs continuous medical follow-up. His care and hospital visits are paid for by the association. We do not publish his name out of respect for his family.

Name to be confirmed
One of the children who received a full school kit — exercise books, pens and a uniform — the first year the association paid the school fees.

Name to be confirmed
Like most of the 36 children, he had no birth certificate and therefore officially did not exist. We are funding the civil-status process so he can stay in school.

Name to be confirmed
He is one of the school-age children who was not in class before 2022. Today all school-age children in the group attend school.

Name to be confirmed
He lives in the children's house next to Nahwera's apartment, and now eats a hot meal every day instead of four times a week.

Name to be confirmed
One of the youngest. Constant illness caused by dirty drinking water was normal for her age group; with clean water this has become rare.

Name to be confirmed
The smallest children stay at home with Nahwera during the day. Food, clothes and medical care for them are part of the running budget.

All of them
The other children are just as real
Every one of the 36 children is fed, schooled and followed up in the same way. You can see the whole group, the medical care we cover and the civil status work on the children page.
